It was great to see a range of approaches and ideas. The staff/leaders from the two Lutheran schools in particular were incredibly friendly, inspiring and helpful.
My experience on the contemporary school learning tour was transformative. Witnessing firsthand the innovative practices and approaches in education left a lasting impact on me as a teacher. I was inspired by the student-centered approach I witnessed, where students were actively engaged in their learning, had a voice in their education, and were encouraged to pursue their passions.
I found this experience challenging, yet affirming that there are great educators who are working hard to ensure that they are creating opportunities for young people to be best prepared for the world by giving them voice and choice and by using teacher passion and interests. Thank you for the opportunity!
Coming in with an open perspective helped seeing beyond the different to find the gold I can take back and implement in my context.
The learning tours are a fun way to challenge your thinking and open your mind to different ways of approaching problems.
Prepare for an intellectual rollercoaster as you process and wrestle with ideas about the purpose of school based education.
Incredible examples of schools rethinking education with the learner at the center of what they do.
An opportunity to inspire teachers to question and reflect their current teaching on how to educate the next generation with a Christ centred approach.
Getting out and about and seeing other schools in action allows us to challenge our own thinking and rekindles curiosity. The Brisbane learning tour provides you with experiences to ask why! And a broad range of schools who can show their HOW! Being surrounded by individuals who are passionate about contemporary education gives you a renewed sense of enthusiasm to make change.
A great opportunity to see what schools are doing to increase student engagement while also having worthwhile discussions with like minded educators who want to drive change for students.
It was interesting to see all the different secondary pathways that are now available to students. I’m excited to be a part of creating a more personalised, engaging educational system that promotes inquiry and the development of key 21st century skills!
The tour allowed me space to observe, wonder and build networks and partnerships across Australia and across educational sectors.
Through this tour it’s been encouraging to hear aspects of teaching and learning in other settings that are also starting to emerge at Endeavour. Feeling like we are on the right track.
Opportunity to see how different schools in different contexts are providing 21st Century Education for their students. No two schools are the same! A great experience to provoke thinking and possible future actions.
Inspired to keep challenging myself to be better in the classroom! And to try new things that may not work but it’s something to keep working on. Great to network and meet other people interested in doing the best for the students in their own school community and context.
You could walk through schools and see the projects that the students had created, which were valued parts of the school. Hearing the benefits of connecting to the community around you.
Inspiring to delve deeply into innovative pedagogies and practices across Lutheran, independent and state schools. Not only was I inspired by what I was able to see firsthand, but I loved the conversations and dialogue I was able to have with colleagues from my school and other Lutheran learning communities across the regions
The tour inspired and challenged me to think about my own space and what small steps I could take next.
It has invigorated me to change things and to have the courage to do the things I have always believed in but not always had the confidence to say or do.
Opportunities to connect, be inspired and engage in innovative learning.
The tour provided me with the space and time to think about what matters most about my craft, the students and how they learn.
Having had the privilege of going on numerous tours and visiting many schools multiple times, I have had the opportunity to see the growth of these schools as they continue to evolve and push boundaries to provide amazing learning environments for their communities. Every time you visit you see something new and inspiring that challenges you to question, ponder and wonder…… What If!!!!
The tour was eye opening and thought provoking. It will challenge you to think about how you can prepare students for life long learning.
Having the time to learn and hear from other schools has been great. From the high feelings or excitement and potential to the very real feelings of confusion. Opportunities to have space and meet other Lutheran educators has helped put the ‘why’ back in perspective, whilst awakening possibilities
The tour provided opportunities for people to connect with new ideas, approaches and innovative educational practices. It affirmed the importance of school culture, relationships, and being clear on who and whose we are as a Lutheran system.
This tour helped me learn experientially about how different schools have begun their contemporary learning transformations. It was reassuring to see all schools have different stories, unique to them, and always have so much more to learn. I took important learnings away with me that will help my school continue its own unique transformation story. So inspiring!
The tour provided an opportunity to view the creativity in education through a variety of different environments and situations. The tour has provided an enlightened view that the future of education has the opportunity to become exciting.
It reinforced my teaching values and shows that some of us are on the right track for our kids.
The tour has been helpful in re-affirming the direction our school is on. I connected with so many ideas that people on the tour and educators in schools were talking about that I can’t help but be excited for what is to come for me as an educator and our school as a place to develop lifelong learners, especially as a part of the Lutheran system.
