Creating Success Together
“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
God has provided us with an abundance of blessings.
At GNLC we believe in ‘Creating Success Together’, and fostering an environment that equips students to reach their full potential. We challenge students to strive for greatness, push their boundaries and become the best versions of themselves. Being a well-rounded individual includes demonstrating our College Values of Grace, Respect, Integrity, Courage and being a team player, showing empathy, displaying leadership and being a responsible member of our community.
This starts with the first enrolment interview where the College Values, Mission and Purpose are shared. It continues as parents become informed about the school life of their child and begin to work alongside teachers and staff. This also includes the trust which parents and caregivers have placed in the College to educate their child/ren. This education is a holistic endeavour which includes academic, physical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects. By working together, we have the best opportunity for our students to ‘create success’, whatever their version of that may be.
Breaking of Ground Ceremony - Mambourin Campus
It’s not often that students and staff have the opportunity to attend a ‘Breaking of Ground’ ceremony. Year 2 students represented the College and be part of a very special occasion for the new Mambourin Campus. The 'Breaking of Ground’ ceremony was the formal commencement to the building of the Mambourin Campus. College Principal, Mrs. Fiona McAuliffe, along with Local, State and Federal government representatives, LEVNT Director Colin Minke and many other special guests were present for the occasion. Exciting times ahead as we continue to ‘Create Success Together’.
Farmhouse Kinder
From an old farmhouse to a Kindergarten, the Farmhouse Kinder commenced in 2024 and brings an exciting new chapter to Lutheran Education in Melbourne’s west! The original farmhouse property and land was purchased by Good News Lutheran College (GNLC) and the former owners grandchildren attended the college. The new ‘Farmhouse Kinder’, features modern barn-inspired architecture and offers fully funded kindergarten programs for three and four-year-old children, as well as Allied Health Services through WonderKidz.
We value our families and love to engage with them. During Harmony Week we celebrated our cultural diversity under the theme of inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone. Children were invited to dress up in clothing that represented their culture or in the colour orange. We explored cultural diversity throughout the week with story time, role-playing, creative activities, music, and movement, with a number of these experiences being led by children's parents.
Enrolments at The Farmhouse for the Kinder program are growing. As a new site in 2024, all of us at Farmhouse Kinder wish to say thank you for the support of staff from both LEVNT and from GNLC. As we soon conclude our third term in operation, we reflect on the past months and the dependable support and guidance we have received!
