Louka Parry’s keynote at Edutech last week was absolutely my stand-out session. Louka talked about the need to transform education so that we are helping people to find their personal ikigai- google it if you have never heard this Japanese concept before- He also talked about the rising need for social and emotional learning to be front and centre in our schools, and how teaching students to improve their wellbeing and to become emotionally literate is one of the most life-changing things that we can focus on for students. You can watch his keynote here: https://youtu.be/Dw6kVHjwd3E
A few days later inspired again by hearing Louka speak about what is at the heart of contemporary learning we were able to spend some time with him to talk about what opportunities might exist for our Lutheran schools across the regions to engage with Louka and learn from him in a meaningful way. We are currently working through a range of options that might be possible. If you have any ideas about the kind of program you would like to see Louka facilitate for our schools then please reach out.

He has also shared his reading list with me, if you are looking for a new book to read in the upcoming term break you might find one on his list: https://trello.com/b/iH2Ikhhr/loukas-bookshelf
