Last week we had 25 people attend a workshop hosted by Anne Knock of The Learning Future and BFX, discussion was focused on the future of learning and consideration of the learning space as the third teacher. With that lens in mind we spent the day discussing the spatial conditions for meaningful learning in our schools.
Anne Knock and Louka Parry shared their expertise and wisdom with our group and engaged them in space design exploration. Small groups went through a process of thinking about the activities that need to take place in a particular space and then they went about designing spaces with those activities in mind. One of the bonuses of the day is that The Learning Future are doing a collaboration with BFX furniture so we had learning space design consultants on hand ready to learn alongside us and then collaborate over space design. It is great that BFX are committed to training a team of consultants that have the knowledge and the skills to understand what great learning looks like and to be able to co-design spaces alongside our educators.
