A Standing Ovation for Trinity's 2024 College Musical ‘Cinderella’
Audiences were captivated by the College’s performance of Cinderella, in Term 4. Students from Years 5-10 entertained the Mildura community with four exceptional performances.
Students and staff displayed incredible dedication, working tirelessly during rehearsals to bring the production to life. Throughout the entire process, our students not only showcased their talents, but also displayed maturity and responsibility—qualities that make us so proud.
A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated team of staff and parents who helped this show become a significant highlight of 2024 for the Trinity community.
Special mention must also go to our ‘mice’ whose performance was stellar. With a small group of Year 1 and 2 students dancing and singing with joy and exuberance embracing their roles.
We couldn’t have asked for a more successful 2024 College Musical. Thank you to everyone involved for making Cinderella such a memorable and enjoyable experience.
Twilight @ Trinity
As a learning community we seek to find ways to showcase student learning through engagement with our families and the wider community. This year, the college hosted two Twilight @ Trinity events.
Twilight @ Trinity allows students the chance to engage in conversations about the learning journey they have been on throughout the semester, with adults asking questions, offering wonderings and listening intently to what our young people have to share. The pride of students, staff and parents was evident throughout both events.
To have in-depth conversations with learners about a chosen passion, their insights, struggles and accomplishments was a strong reminder and affirmation of our capacity to help young people grow as inquiring and compassionate global citizens with a heart to serve.
This is not a success that we solely own as staff at Trinity. It relies on the support of parents, carers and friends partnering with us in discovery and inquiry where a passion for learning and deeper understanding is shared.
Grandparents & Special Friends Day
In Term 2, the college hosted Grandparents and Special Friends Day. Observing the interactions between our learners and their grandparents and special friends reminded us of the rich tapestry of wisdom and experience these loved ones bring into our lives. Here are some of the reflections from our special friends who attended this special community event this year.
Exercise gratitude
One of the most common lessons shared by grandparents is the practice of gratitude. They remind us to appreciate the simple things in life and to recognise the value of the people and moments that bring us joy. Their perspective helps us to see the beauty in the everyday and to live with a thankful heart.
Reflect on Your Journey
Our grandparents are master storytellers, weaving lessons from the past with hopes for our future. They encourage us to reflect on our experiences, learn from our mistakes, and celebrate our successes. This practice of reflection helps us to grow and understand ourselves better.
Embrace Challenges with Courage
Facing challenges is a theme deeply ingrained in the advice from our grandparents. They share stories of tough times and how facing these moments with courage and perseverance shaped their character. They teach us that challenges are opportunities for growth and that we have the strength within us to overcome them.
Find Joy in the Journey
Our grandparents and special friends have a unique way of finding joy in life’s simple pleasures. They teach us to cherish the moments, big and small, and to find happiness in our daily lives. Their ability to enjoy the journey, with all its ups and downs, inspires us to adopt a more positive and joyful outlook.
The Value of Quiet Reflection
Many grandparents give advice about the need to take time for quiet reflection or retreat. They value the moments spent in contemplation, learning from the past, and planning for the future. This practice of reflection can help us to stay grounded and focused on what truly matters, which may even be just spending time with them.
