Like many schools in the Lutheran Education Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania (LEVNT) Region, we have been blessed to have a Lutheran Education Queensland (LEQ) school reach out to support us. I have felt refreshed and inspired each time Principal Anton Prinsloo from St Paul’s Lutheran Primary School and Kindergarten has spoken to me, left voicemails or written to me.
At times in Lutheran schools, especially in regional areas, our staff can forget just how connected we are to our wider Lutheran education system; our wider family. As Anton passionately sought ideas of how they could support us, I was thinking, why do we have to keep this level of support at our level? So, on Friday, 4 September 2020, we had a joint Staff Devotion, and Pastor Mike Neldner led a time of prayer.
Due to a technical difficulty, we couldn’t explain that during remote learning, our staff have a weekly “Friday Feels” dress day, and the theme was fluorescent. We didn’t get too many weird looks! The Tarrington Lutheran School team left the devotion with smiles on their faces, and a feeling of being loved and supported from our friends in Caboolture, Queensland.
Our next step is to share contact details and build connections between the teaching and administration teams. I want to extend my thanks and appreciation to Principal Anton Prinsloo and the staff team at St Paul’s Lutheran Primary School, for our new partnership. Our prayer is that they maintain a state of COVID-normal and can continue their school year face-to-face.
