“Be of good courage and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the LORD do what is good in His sight.” 2 Samuel 10:12
Lately as I have been visiting our wonderful region (both physically and virtually), this verse has started echoing in my mind. I am increasingly aware that the pressures of principalship and senior leadership in our schools and ECS’s brings a complex range of challenges, sometimes all at once! Not to mention some of the pressures are precious Board volunteers are under, who certainly aren’t serving their communities for the money!
One thing that has become clear to me over the last five months, is that Christ has placed us all in the role we currently serve for a reason. I realise it’s trite to just say we should rely on God to get us through whatever challenge is before us, but the reality is, every situation we find ourselves in Christ walks alongside us (and in many cases carry’s us). It is also obvious to me that the culture of support reaches to every corner of our region, and I feel blessed to be part of this caring community.
So whatever role you find yourself in; be it board member, principal, teaching or support staff, student or parent, know that you are surrounded by loving and caring people who seek to be Christ’s hands and feet in this world. My heartfelt thanks for you dedication and selfless commitment to our school and ECS communities, and may God continue to walk alongside you in your journey.
Jesus fills us full of courage when we step out in faith. We don’t have to fear the unknown because we know that God is with us as we go. God will always do right by us. Trust him and ask him to fill you full of courage.
Yours in Christ,
Colin Minke
