Project-Based Learning: Bringing Learning to Life
It was a pleasure to collaborate with schools and staff from across LESNW and LEVNT as they engaged in a dynamic Project-Based Learning (PBL) workshop with Aaron Eisberg from New Tech High School in Napa Valley, California.
A workshop was held in January during student-free days—providing a valuable opportunity for educators to deeply engage in the PBL process. St Paul’s Lutheran Primary Henty and Lakeside College staff collaborated with staff from Living Waters Alice Springs, fostering meaningful cross-regional and cross-school connections.
Over the two-day sessions, participants explored the principles of Free to Flourish and strategically designed meaningful learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom, creating real-world impact.
By the end of the workshop, teachers had developed a PBL unit ready to launch in 2025. Throughout the year, we will continue working with Aaron, reflecting on implementation, refining our approach, and co-designing another engaging PBL unit. This ongoing journey ensures that Free to Flourish attributes—relational, compassionate, purposeful, and adventurous learning—are embedded in authentic learning experiences that empower our students to shape their own stories.
