In 2019 Larry Rosenstock won the biggest prize in Education the Wise Prize. He was able to keep or spend the money as he wished and chose to develop a book detailing the very best of High Tech High projects over the last 20 years that the school has been running. You can see a video of him talking about this here: https://youtu.be/4rk6tp3rD0w
The book has recently been published and true to his word Larry has made it digital and available for free download: https://changingthesubject.org/project_media/changing-the-subject-ebook/?fbclid=IwAR0cJVTQm1vh0saD59zYSOWB2DdnwDRZG9-gs5M3x1e_wto5MxT7k91b-q0
This book is filled with rich examples of PBL from the very youngest to the oldest of Primary and Secondary students. There are projects that are multi-age and cross-curricular, well worth investing some time to read through and think about what could be possible in your own school.
If you read this and are inspired to learn more about how to plan and teach a PBL then please start by signing up to the PBL Down Under summit in September this year- an online 3-day course that will teach you just that. Once you have learned the basics through a PBL Works course then we have developed a range of resources and supports to help you get started in your own school.
