ALWS have started off the new year differently, and have been trying out some new pancake recipes from Ukraine- ones that feature cinnamon and raisin yoghurt! Pancakes are a favourite breakfast food in Ukraine, and ALWS is launching 100 days of action to help children and families hurt by the war in Ukraine and who now seem to be in danger of being forgotten by the world.
With Shrove Tuesday – Pancake Day – coming up on Tuesday 13 Feb, it seemed a simple way to remind people that on Tuesday 24 Feb, it will be 2 years since the war in Ukraine started.
All school principals will have received a mailout including some pancake batter inviting your school to hold a Pancake Day for Ukraine. Click here for more Ukraine resources.
