Lutheran Schools provide a Christ centered quality education for young Australians. The gospel of Jesus Christ informs all learning, teaching and human relationships. We aim to set up and maintain a framework of Christian attitudes and relationships, with each child knowing they are a special child of God. We also aim to grow Christian attitudes and relationships which permeate and integrate through a child’s entire life and work, thereby helping them grow as a caring community of lifelong learners. We seek to inspire young people to learn and serve, as we prepare them for their life beyond School.
Within the LEVNT region we have 19 Lutheran Schools providing education to over 7,100 children from Prep through to Year 12. We also have five Lutheran Early Childhood Services in the LEVNT region.
Victoria:

Our History
Education has been important to Lutheran communities since the time of Martin Luther in the 16th Century and German immigrants into Australia in the late 1830’s continued to place education at the forefront of their communities. Lutheran schools and Early childhood Services are committed to quality education that emphasises the whole child emotionally, physically, intellectually, psychologically and spiritually. Throughout their history, Lutheran schools have maintained a strong educational focus as they simultaneously moved from nurture to mission in proclaiming the redemptive work of Christ to those beyond their community.
Lutheran Education in Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania has played a vital role in Lutheran schooling since 1853 and today works closely with and supports 20 primary, secondary and P-12 schools and four early learning centres. The first of these schools was established in our region in 1853 at Tarrington in the Western District and is still in operation today. The last school to be established in our region was Geelong Lutheran College in 2009. Although our schools are rightfully proud of their heritage and we take great pleasure in celebrating milestones with them, like the 150th anniversary of St John’s Lutheran Primary School – Jindera in 2018, we are future focused. Our commitment is to provide for our students an educational program that not only teaches them to value and learn from their history, but to be well prepared for a future that doesn’t yet exist.
